You know I had to try this one with a name like that! We grew it last year and loved it. The best guess is that this fabulous leaf lettuce's name refers to her frizzy headed look. The leaves are emerald green tipped in mahogany red. Drunken Woman is one of the last lettuces to bolt in summer, and she'll last in cool autumn weather, too. Gorgeous in the garden and on the plate, the leaves are crisp and flavourful. Plant short rows from early spring to late summer, and enjoy a constant supply of delicious and beautiful lettuce. Lots of people plant numerous lettuce varieties each summer. If you only want to grow one lettuce, give this one a try.
